Many countries around the world designate June 1st as Children's Day, especially in socialist countries. In European and American countries, the dates of Children's Day vary, and there are often few public celebrations. Therefore, some people misunderstand that only socialist countries designate June 1st as International Children's Day. In order to safeguard the rights of children worldwide, in November 1949, the International Democratic Women's Federation decided at the Executive Committee meeting in Moscow to designate June 1st as International Children's Day.
