On April 9, according to The Block, an independent Bitcoin miner mined Bitcoin block 944,306, earning a reward of 3.128 BTC, worth approximately $222,012.

According to data from the blockchain explorer Mempool, the miner used CKpool’s independent mining software to complete this mining. The reward breakdown is a block subsidy of 3.125 BTC (about $221,800) and transaction fees of 0.003 BTC (about $212).

CKpool developer Con Kolivas posted on X that the miner used only 70 TH of hash power to mine the 313rd independent block. The probability of a miner of this scale mining one block in a day is about 1 in 100,000, and it would take an average of about 300 years for this to happen once.
