Quantum information science pioneer awarded the Turing Award
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) announced on the 18th that the 2025 Turing Award will be awarded to American physicist and IBM researcher Charles Bennett and Canadian computer scientist and University of Montreal professor Gilles Brassard, in recognition of their pioneering contributions to quantum information science and their outstanding achievements in advancing secure communication and computing technologies. The Turing Award, named after the late British mathematician Alan Turing, is regarded as the “Nobel Prize of the computing world,” with a prize of $1 million funded by Google Inc. (Xinhua News Agency)
