【Global Network Report, Reporter Zhang Jiangping】According to reports from Fox News, Newsweek, and other American media, golf star “Tiger” Woods was involved in a car accident on March 27. U.S. President Donald Trump responded later that day, saying he “feels very bad” about the incident.

Newsweek states that Woods has maintained a long-standing private relationship with Trump and his family. Upon hearing about Woods’ accident, Trump told reporters on the 27th, “I feel very bad. He encountered some difficulties. An accident happened, and that’s all I know. He is a very close friend of mine.”

According to reports from the Associated Press and other media, Woods was arrested on the 27th on suspicion of “driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs,” and was released on bail later that day. Sheriff John Budencheck of Martin County, Florida, said Woods’ car overturned when he tried to pass a truck during the crash. Woods was uninjured. Budencheck stated that Woods agreed to a breathalyzer test, which showed he was not intoxicated. Investigators believe he was driving under the influence of drugs, but Woods refused to take a urine test. According to Budencheck, Woods has the right to refuse a urine test, and law enforcement officials can therefore “never determine exactly what substances he was affected by.”
