The Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Office in Hong Kong met with the U.S. Consul General in Hong Kong and lodged a solemn protest.

According to a message on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Office in Hong Kong, on March 27, 2026, in response to the so-called “security warning” issued by the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong regarding the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s revised “Implementation Rules for Article 43 of the Hong Kong National Security Law,” Cui Jianchun, the commissioner, met with the U.S. Consul General in Hong Kong, Yizu Yi, to lodge a solemn and firm demarche, expressing strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition. He urged the U.S. side to immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs in any form and interfering in China’s internal affairs.
