European Central Bank Governing Council Member: The European Central Bank will discuss raising interest rates and maintaining current rates.

ME News message: April 5 (UTC+8). In a Jin10 broadcast, Klaas Knot Sleipon, a member of the European Central Bank’s Executive Board and governor of De Nederlandsche Bank, said in a podcast episode aired on April 4 that the ECB will next discuss options around further rate hikes and keeping interest rates unchanged. He believes this will be the focus of the discussion at the ECB’s interest rate decision on April 30. Although there will be new data available by then, the amount is limited. He added, “At the moment, we are in the same position as the Federal Reserve—we do not know how the interest rate path will develop. But in any case, we will ultimately make a decision based on the data available at that time.” (Source: Jin10)
