Federal Reserve Meeting Minutes: Some officials worry that Iran war could slow down the inflation process
ME News message. April 9 (UTC+8). In the third week of the Iran war, as the Federal Reserve holds its meeting, a group of officials worries that this conflict could prolong the duration of elevated inflation. These officials discussed how the war has driven up energy prices, and how a long, drawn-out war could lead to inflation in more other categories as well. The minutes from the March meeting show: “Due to these factors, the vast majority of participants indicated that the progress toward the Committee’s 2% inflation target may be slower than previously expected.” (Source: Jinshi)
