At 18:00 local time on the 18th, the Speaker of Iran’s parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, posted a statement saying, “The enemy wants to cover up its failure on the battlefield by attacking infrastructure.” He emphasized that the current rule is “an eye for an eye,” and that the confrontation between the two sides has reached an entirely new stage. Earlier that day, Iranian sources said that the South Pars phases 3 to 6 natural gas refineries in Iran’s Bushehr province were attacked by U.S.-Israeli drones. Iran later warned that oil facilities associated with the United States will be treated at the same level as U.S. military bases, and that they will be subjected to fierce artillery fire.
