Ecuador's largest refinery enters emergency status

On the 5th, local time, Ecuador’s National Oil Company announced that, due to a fire, the country’s largest refinery, the Esmeraldas Refinery, entered an emergency status, with the longest duration of 60 days. On the 1st, a loading pump at the refinery caught fire, causing some operations to be halted and equipment to be damaged. The Esmeraldas Refinery is Ecuador’s largest crude oil processing hub, with a daily processing capacity of up to 110k barrels of crude oil. (CCTV News)
