The midpoint rate for the yuan versus the US dollar is set at 6.9025, down 18 basis points from the previous day. Note: The yuan midpoint rate is determined by the China Foreign Exchange Trading System, which, before the opening of the interbank foreign exchange market each day, solicits quotes from all interbank FX market makers. It uses all market makers’ quotes as calculation samples for the yuan-to-US-dollar midpoint exchange rate; after removing the highest and lowest quotations, it takes the weighted average of the remaining market makers’ quotes. The yuan exchange rate midpoint is the most important reference indicator for the spot interbank foreign exchange trading market and bank quoted rates.
