On the morning of April 6 local time, when US President Trump spoke to the media during an event at the White House, he said that Tuesday, April 7, US Eastern Time is the final deadline—“cannot be changed.”

Trump again emphasized that “Iran cannot have nuclear weapons,” saying that during his first term he tore up the Iran nuclear deal, assassinated the commander of the “Quds Force” under Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Soleimani, and thereby “prevented Israel from being erased from the map.”

Trump insisted that he has achieved an Iranian “regime change,” saying that the Iranian leadership now negotiating with the United States is “more reasonable.” But he also said, “They (Iran) just won’t admit defeat, but in the end they’ll give in. If they don’t give in, they’ll end up with nothing.”

Trump also said that if he had a choice, he would “take (Iran’s) oil,” because “the oil is within reach, and they (Iran) have no ability to do anything about it.” Trump said, “Unfortunately, the American people want us to come home—if it were up to me, I would take the oil, I would claim the oil as my own, and I would make a lot of money.”

When asked by a reporter, “Since the US side has repeatedly claimed that Iran’s military power has been destroyed, why is the fighting still ongoing?” Trump said, “They (Iran) still have some missiles and some drones. They got lucky—they shot down one (US) aircraft.”
