Galaxy Futures: Increasing Parking at Home and Abroad, Ethylene Glycol Supply Tightens

Due to domestic raw material supply constraints, the operating rates of domestic ethylene cracking to produce ethylene glycol plants have declined to varying degrees. At present, it is understood that companies in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Hainan, Fujian, and other regions are all involved. The load of Zhejiang Petrochemical has fallen on a month-over-month basis, and Hainan Petrochemical and Fufeng are running with relatively low loads. For coal gasification to produce ethylene glycol, Yulin Chemical and Yunneng Chemical are both carrying out maintenance as scheduled. Overseas, Sabic has announced force majeure. In Malaysia, PetroChina is carrying out maintenance as scheduled in the near term, which is expected to continue until the end of May. Ethylene glycol inventories at the East China ports are at a high level, with a weak basis. The amount of lost overseas supply is gradually becoming apparent. In April, the import volume is expected to drop significantly, and the destocking decline is relatively large. (Galaxy Futures)
