The U.S. Department of Justice opposes the dismissal of criminal charges against Tornado Cash developer Roman Storm
ME News message, April 8 (UTC+8), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed an opinion with the federal court, opposing the request by Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm for dismissal of criminal charges. The DOJ argues that the latest decision from the Supreme Court that he cites is not relevant to this case.
Previously, Storm’s lawyer attempted to cite a civil case involving copyright infringement as the basis to withdraw the case. But the U.S. prosecutors said the legal context addressed in that decision is clearly different from the current criminal case and should not affect this case. Based on the latest developments, the Roman Storm case may still proceed and move into the subsequent stage of hearings. (Source: Decrypt)
