Ask AI · How Will Iran’s Ten-Point Plan Reshape the Security Landscape in the Strait of Hormuz?

In the early hours of the 8th local time, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council issued a statement, saying that, upon the recommendation of the Supreme Leader and with approval from the Supreme National Security Council, it has accepted the ceasefire proposal put forward by Pakistan.

The statement said that in this war, almost all of Iran’s targets have been achieved. The enemy “suffered a historic and comprehensive defeat.” The Iranian side will “continue the struggle until the great achievements it has gained are consolidated, establishing a new security and political landscape in the region,” and decided to hold negotiations in Islamabad to determine the details, “consolidating the fruits of victory through political negotiations within up to 15 days.”

The statement also said that Iran rejected all plans proposed by the other side and formulated a ten-point plan, submitting it to the United States through Pakistan. The plan highlights the following key points:

  • Coordinating with Iran’s armed forces to control passage through the Strait of Hormuz;
  • Ending the war against all members of the “axis of resistance” and putting an end to the aggression of the Israeli regime;
  • Having U.S. combat forces withdraw from all bases and deployment points in the region;
  • Establishing a secure transit protocol in the Strait of Hormuz to ensure Iran has a dominant position;
  • Fully compensating Iran for its losses based on assessment results;
  • Lifting all first-tier and second-tier sanctions and relevant resolutions of the Security Council;
  • Releasing all Iranian assets and properties frozen overseas;

Finally, all these matters should be approved in binding Security Council resolutions.

The statement emphasized that all agreements reached through negotiations will become binding international law and will bring an important diplomatic victory for the Iranian nation.

The statement said that the negotiations will begin in Islamabad on April 10. Iran will allocate two weeks for this; with the consent of both sides, the negotiation period may be extended.

The statement called on the entire public to trust and support this process overseen by Iran’s top leadership, and to strictly avoid divisive remarks.

The statement also said that if the negotiations fail, Iran is prepared for battle. (CCTV reporter Li Jiannan Huang Yuanpeng)
