4.8 Wednesday Afternoon Market Analysis
Last night, Trump announced at the last minute a two-week ceasefire with Iran, on the condition that Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz. Once this news broke, Bitcoin immediately surged from more than 67,000 to 72,500, Ethereum also jumped to 2,260, and mainstream coins all turned green.
This move is a typical example of a news catalyst. The US-Iran ceasefire caused oil prices to crash by nearly 20%. As risk sentiment cooled down, funds all rushed into risk assets.
But if you think calmly, this two-week ceasefire is basically just a buffer period. Negotiations are set to resume in Pakistan on April 10. In the meantime, if talks break down at any point, the situation could blow up again in minutes. The temporary news working in tandem with the big players’ pull-up is extremely unstable for the market conditions. Until a clear outcome is reached, our trading recommendation still focuses primarily on going short from high levels!
