On the morning session of April 7, the market rose and then retreated; the Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.03% for the first half, and the total trading value across the market for the first half was nearly 1.1 trillion yuan. In terms of sectors and themes, the oil and petrochemical, copper-clad laminate, chemical fiber, forestry, and chemical fertilizer and pesticide sectors led the gains. The energy equipment, power generation equipment, insurance, and precious metals sectors led the declines.

As of the midday close, the CSI A500 Index fell 0.2%, the CSI 300 Index fell 0.3%, the ChiNext Index fell 0.5%, and the SSE STAR 50 constituents index rose 1.6%. Among the related ETFs, the A500 ETF from E Fund (159361, fund-of-funds A/C/Y: 022459/022460/022930) saw a trading value of more than 1.5 billion yuan for the first half, with net subscriptions of nearly 70 million units.
