China and Pakistan have proposed a five-point initiative to restore peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East regions.

ME News update, on March 31 (UTC+8), State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, held talks in Beijing with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar. The two sides exchanged views on the situation in the Gulf and the Middle East and put forward the following proposals: 1. Immediately stop hostilities; 2. Open negotiations as soon as possible; 3. Ensure the safety of non-military targets; 4. Ensure the safety of shipping lanes; 5. Ensure the paramount status of the UN Charter. (Source: ODAILY)
