People’s Finance Network, April 1—The United States plans to carry out the Artemis 2 crewed lunar flyby mission on April 1. The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration said on March 31 that it is proceeding in an orderly manner with the final preparations ahead of launch. Weather forecasts indicate an 80% chance conditions will be favorable for launch. Under the schedule, the launch of the Artemis 2 mission will not be earlier than 6:24 p.m. Eastern Time on April 1 (6:24 a.m. Beijing Time on April 2). At that time, the United States’ next-generation lunar rocket, the Space Launch System, will carry the Orion spacecraft, launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and send four astronauts into a lunar flyby orbit for a 10-day lunar mission.
