BYD executive states that the production capacity switch between the first and second generation blade batteries is still ongoing.

In the latest interview, BYD Group’s executive vice president and Fradi Battery CEO He Long said that since the release of the first-generation Blade Battery, the battery team hasn’t been able to take a break, and even today they are still expanding capacity—building lines and commissioning them, with an extremely, extremely heavy workload. He also revealed that the overall capacity transition between the first-generation Blade Battery and the second-generation Blade Battery is still ongoing; they didn’t take a break for the Spring Festival and were working on these things. According to He Long, the second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology compress charging time to within 10 minutes, in the single digits. (Sina Finance)
