Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and UN Secretary-General António Guterres spoke by phone on the evening of the 10th to exchange views on the latest developments in U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran. Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Iran’s civilian facilities—including schools, hospitals, residential areas, and historic sites—were deliberately targeted. He said such actions openly violate international law and the basic principles of humanitarianism. He added that Iran’s response to the United States and Israel is within the framework of the lawful right of self-defense, and that safeguarding the safety of citizens’ lives is Iran’s unavoidable fundamental responsibility. Guterres said that the United States and Israel’s attacks on Iran are clear and undeniable acts of aggression. He stressed that international law principles must be followed, the situation must be prevented from escalating further, and the spillover of the conflict must be contained. (CCTV News)
