According to a report by the Philippine News Agency on the 27th, President Marcos of the Philippines said that the 48th ASEAN Summit and related meetings will be held in the central part of the Philippines, in Cebu Province, from May 8 to 9. Marcos said the same day, during a media interview in Sirang City, Kamalti Province, that although the oil crisis related to the conflict in the Middle East was still ongoing, after consulting with leaders of other Southeast Asian countries, he decided that the ASEAN Summit would proceed as scheduled. He said that this ASEAN Summit and related meetings will be scaled down, focusing on the current challenges and collective response measures, with major agenda items including the supply of oil and oil products, the supply and prices of food, and migrant workers, among others.
