Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Thursday that Phase 3 of Round 90 of its military operation “True Promise-4” has begun, targeting Amazon-owned cloud data center AWS in Bahrain.

Later in the evening, the Guard Corps’ naval command issued a statement saying that attacks were carried out against the U.S. Oracle data center located in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Amazon data center located in Bahrain.

Amazon’s share price once fell by 2.7%, then ended the day down by 0.4% after reversing again.

According to a report by the British Financial Times, earlier that day Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said that civil defense teams were putting out a fire at a company facility, adding that the blaze was linked to attacks launched by Iran.

Two days before the attack on the Amazon AWS building, Iran warned that it would target U.S. companies other than U.S. military forces in the Gulf region. The Revolutionary Guard listed 18 companies at risk, citing the use of artificial intelligence by the Guard in war and espionage activities, including Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, and other firms.
