CME Group Reports 19% Increase in Daily Trading Volume of Cryptocurrency Contracts in March, Reaching $7.98 Billion

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME Group) announced that the average daily trading volume of cryptocurrency contracts in March reached 210,000 contracts, with a notional value of $7.98 billion, marking a 19% increase. Among these, the average daily trading volume of micro Bitcoin futures grew by 6%, reaching 77,000 contracts, while Ethereum futures saw a 53% increase in average daily trading volume, reaching 19,000 contracts. Additionally, the overall average daily trading volume of contracts on the CME platform in March reached 41.1 million contracts, setting a new monthly record with a year-on-year growth of 33%. The average daily trading volume for the first quarter reached 36.2 million contracts, also a new quarterly high, with a year-on-year increase of 22%.
