Elon Musk hints that Tesla may launch a three-row seating model
On Thursday local time, Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted a series of messages on the social media platform X, suggesting that Tesla plans to launch or develop a new product.
Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian replied to a post about Tesla potentially launching a three-row SUV, stating that “business dads” need “three rows to accommodate the whole family.” Musk retweeted Ohanian’s post.
Musk also responded to a post by user Keller Cliffton, which shared a screenshot of a study indicating that the inability to install three child safety seats in the back seat of a car would decrease the likelihood of having a third child. In his response, Musk stated, “We should solve this problem.”
In another post, Musk replied to user Ryan Peterson’s prediction. Peterson predicted that if Tesla were to launch a model with “three rows of seats, each with two independent doors so people don’t have to climb over others to sit down,” it could “spark a baby boom.” Musk responded, “Got it.”
Previously, a user urged Tesla to launch a family-oriented MPV, to which Musk responded that the electric vehicle giant is developing a model that is “way cooler than an MPV.” Subsequently, leaked images of the vehicle’s frame surfaced on social media, showing larger rear space and bigger windows.
This reportedly new model from Tesla is expected to help adjust its product lineup and boost foot traffic. Additionally, it could provide a strong boost to the electric vehicle giant’s sales, which saw significant growth in the European market in February.
