Xinhua News Agency, Washington, March 19 – According to a report by CNN on March 19, a U.S. F-35 fighter jet reportedly made an emergency landing after being hit by Iranian fire.

The report cites two informed sources saying that the F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at a U.S. military airbase in the Middle East, with the aircraft allegedly being struck by Iranian fire.

U.S. Central Command spokesman Tim Hawkins stated that the stealth fighter was forced to make an emergency landing while “conducting a mission over Iran,” and the aircraft landed safely.

The report noted that this could be the first instance of Iranian forces hitting a U.S. aircraft during the recent U.S. military operations against Iran. (End)
