Ministry of Commerce issues guidance on the implementation of beef security measures for 2026
On March 26, People’s Finance News reported that the Ministry of Commerce released information regarding the implementation of beef safeguard measures for the year 2026. According to the Ministry of Commerce’s Announcement No. 87 of 2025, the import of beef from Australia reached 50% of the quantity specified for the current year in Annex 2 of that announcement by March 25, 2026. From the third day after the imported beef reaches the specified quantity in Annex 2 of that announcement (including that day), an additional tariff of 55% will be imposed on top of the current applicable tariff rate.
