Close Review: Shanghai Index Rises Nearly 2%, Power and Environmental Protection Sectors Strong, Innovative Drug Concepts Active
On March 24th, the A-share market rebounded strongly, with the Shanghai Composite Index rising nearly 2% in the afternoon, the Sci-Tech Innovation Board Index up over 3%, and more than 5,100 A-shares closing higher.
By the end of the trading session, the Shanghai Composite Index increased by 1.78% to 3,881.28 points, the Shenzhen Component Index rose by 1.43%, the ChiNext Index gained 0.5%, and the Sci-Tech Innovation Board Index surged 3.24%. The combined turnover of the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets was approximately 21 trillion yuan.
In terms of sectors, the power and environmental protection sectors led the gains, with pharmaceuticals, steel, real estate, non-ferrous metals, chemicals, and semiconductors also rising. Concepts such as military trade, green electricity, optical communication, and innovative drugs were active.
Shenwan Hongyuan Securities believes that in the short term, the market may follow a process of “oversold → stabilization and policy support → rebound.” The market is likely to continue fluctuating within a range, with leading sectors rotating continuously. During this phase, opportunities may arise in new main lines (such as short-term energy storage and optical communication based on economic recovery), potentially challenging the upper limit of the fluctuation range. However, if after the rebound the main sectors face resistance, the market may decline toward the lower end of the range. In terms of allocation, the short-term focus remains on “practicality,” with CPO and energy storage being strong directions. Under energy cost shocks, new energy and new energy vehicles benefit from energy diversification and supply resilience trends, potentially becoming important strategic resources alongside traditional energy. Additionally, the “second phase of growth” structure (AI industry chain + cyclical price increases) is likely to see a pullback, providing opportunities for layout.
