The Iran conflict continues; South Korea will activate its emergency response system.
South Korean President Lee Jae-myung stated at a cabinet meeting that, in response to the potential long-term risks of the Middle East crisis to people’s livelihoods, the economy, and industries, South Korea will proactively activate its emergency response system. Lee Jae-myung said that all departments need to conduct a comprehensive inspection of supplies with potential risks, carefully assess their impact on daily life, seek alternative supply channels, and develop emergency plans based on worst-case scenarios. He called for implementing a “five-day” vehicle rotation restriction in the public sector and urged citizens to participate in energy-saving actions. South Korea is scheduled to announce the second round of maximum fuel price limits on March 27. Due to rising international oil prices, price increases are now unavoidable.
