This article is reprinted from the People’s Daily Overseas Edition
On March 24, in Shenzhen, the Southern Power Grid Corporation announced that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau will establish the country’s first physical, market-oriented, and routine virtual power plant management center. It has served over 1,098 fast-charging stations in Shenzhen. The bureau has also deepened operations of the country’s first government-authorized green electricity and green certificate service center, and has launched the “Green Car Charging Green Electricity” and “Resident Green Electricity Purchase” service products, expanding green electricity and green certificate consumption to residents. The total green electricity and green certificate transactions have exceeded 68 billion kWh.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau’s fixed investments increased by 43% compared to the 13th Five-Year Plan. It has high-quality built the Guangdong target grid (Shenzhen section) and optimized the 500 kV Zhu-Dongnan grid. It has served over 600 major projects and added 65 substations of 110 kV and above.
By 2026, Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau will implement the “Four Major Enhancements” campaign for the main grid, focusing on solving bottleneck issues in grid development, accelerating key project construction, and establishing “Fast Power Use” benchmarks in areas like Hetao and Qianhai. It aims to promote interconnection of power infrastructure between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
