Japan's Mizuho Financial Group plans to cut 5,000 administrative positions over the next decade by leveraging artificial intelligence technology.

Mizuho Financial Group in Japan plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to significantly reduce the workload for tasks such as document review and data entry. Over the next ten years, they aim to cut 5,000 administrative jobs while providing retraining to redeploy these employees to sales, analysis, and other business support departments to improve profitability. Due to natural attrition from hiring reductions and employee retirements, Mizuho ultimately plans to reduce administrative staff by up to one-third. (Jiemian News)
