ChainCatcher News: Pump.fun co-founder alon disclosed on the X platform that the platform has updated its fee mechanism to address malicious manipulation in token issuance. Previously, each token issued on pump.fun had an associated Coin Admin who could freely change the fee recipient and distribution method, leading to manipulative behaviors: creators would initially set fees to redirect to others, then after the token gained popularity, transfer the fees back to their own wallets, harming user interests.

After the update, all tokens will default to standard creator fees (excluding rebate tokens), and creators will have only one opportunity to redirect the fees to another wallet. After that, the fee settings will be locked. If creators do not use this opportunity, they can make adjustments later when needed. Fees already allocated to existing tokens will be locked, while existing standard fee tokens will have one chance to change their fees.
