International Paper announced plans to construct a new 468,000-square-foot, $225 million sustainable packaging facility in Rankin County, Mississippi. This project is the second major economic development announcement for Rankin County in six months, following AVAIO Digital’s $6 billion data center campus. The new plant, expected to begin operations in late 2027, will replace an older facility, strengthening IP’s cost position and enhancing service capabilities in the Mid-South region.
