The Swiss Federal Council issued a statement on the 20th saying that during the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, Switzerland will suspend the export of war materials to the United States. The statement indicated that, given the United States is involved in an international armed conflict, the export of war materials to the U.S. cannot be approved. It also stated that since the escalation of the conflict on February 28, Switzerland has not issued any new export licenses for war materials to the U.S. Over the years, Switzerland has also not issued any war material export licenses to Israel, nor to Iran. The statement further mentioned that the Swiss government will establish a cross-departmental expert group to regularly review previously approved licenses and other exports to the U.S., and assess whether further measures are necessary.
