[Caixin] Xiaomi accelerates its move into the large model arena. On March 19th early morning, Xiaomi announced the launch of three self-developed large models: the flagship base model Xiaomi MiMo-V2-Pro, the multimodal base model Xiaomi MiMo-V2-Omni, and the speech synthesis large model Xiaomi MiMo-V2-TTS, covering various application scenarios such as intelligent agent reasoning, multimodal interactions, and voice communication.

Before official release, the Pro and Omni versions of the models were anonymously listed on the API aggregation platform OpenRouter under the code names “Hunter Alpha” and “Healer Alpha,” respectively. During this period, their call volumes topped the daily charts for several days. To date, the call volume has exceeded 1 trillion tokens, and they have received numerous spontaneous recommendations from developers.

After the launch event, Lei Jun stated that the company’s goal is to become part of the world’s top tier in the model field. Xiaomi plans to invest at least 60 billion yuan in AI over the next three years, with this year’s AI R&D and capital investment budget already exceeding 16 billion yuan. “We have entered a brand new era. Whether individuals or enterprises, everyone needs to embrace AI,” Lei Jun said.
