European Financial News, March 17 — On March 16, the EU Energy Ministers’ Meeting was held in Brussels. The meeting focused on discussing the impact of the Middle East conflict on Europe’s energy supply and price stability, as well as the EU’s response strategies. EU Energy Commissioner Jørgensen chaired the meeting. After the meeting, Jørgensen stated that the European Commission is studying “targeted temporary measures” to alleviate the pressure caused by rising energy prices. Additionally, Jørgensen mentioned that the EU will not re-engage with Russia on energy imports to offset the impact of soaring energy prices. The EU will adhere to its established plan to gradually reduce dependence on Russian energy and will not change its policies due to current market fluctuations. (CCTV News)
