People’s Financial News, March 16 — The National Bureau of Statistics released the energy production data for January to February 2026. During this period, industrial raw coal production (hereinafter referred to as above-scale industrial output) remained stable. Crude oil production shifted from decline to growth, natural gas production steadily increased, and electricity generation accelerated.

From January to February, above-scale industrial raw coal output was 760 million tons, down 0.3% year-on-year, narrowing the decline by 0.7 percentage points compared to December 2025; the average daily output was 12.93 million tons.

In the same period, crude oil output was 35.73 million tons, up 1.9% year-on-year, compared to a 0.6% decline in December 2025; the average daily output was 606,000 tons.

Electricity generation reached 15,718 billion kWh, up 4.1% year-on-year, with the growth rate accelerating by 4.0 percentage points compared to December 2025; the average daily electricity generation was 26.64 billion kWh.
