US SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce stated that regulators welcome institutions exploring asset tokenization and novel ETF structures to communicate directly with the SEC, saying "you can come talk to us about what you want to do." She emphasized that the SEC is not a "values regulator" judging whether products are good or bad, but rather ensures that relevant products comply with securities laws and disclosure requirements. Peirce also noted that as institutions advance tokenized securities and crypto-related investment products, regulators may need to address a range of legal, technical, and operational issues. The SEC is currently also researching a more limited innovation exemption mechanism to allow certain tokenized securities to conduct pilot trading under the existing regulatory framework. (The Block)
