Iraq states that it has received more than 5,000 members of extremist groups

On the 13th local time, Iraqi Justice Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Laibi stated that so far, Iraq has received a total of 5,064 detained ISIS members from Syria, including over 270 Iraqi nationals, more than 3,000 Syrian nationals, and others from different countries. The spokesperson said that all relevant personnel are currently held in the same prison and will undergo investigation and trial according to Iraqi law. Additionally, the spokesperson revealed that the meal expenses for these individuals are covered by the International Coalition against Extremist Organizations, not the Iraqi government. (CCTV News)
