Today's lithium carbonate spot prices continue to rise
SMM Battery Grade Lithium Carbonate Index Price: 161,243 RMB/ton, up 9,218 RMB/ton from the previous trading day; Battery Grade Lithium Carbonate: 158,000-165,500 RMB/ton, average 161,750 RMB/ton, up 9,750 RMB/ton from the previous trading day; Industrial Grade Lithium Carbonate: 155,000-161,500 RMB/ton, average 158,250 RMB/ton, up 9,750 RMB/ton from the previous trading day. Today, the main futures contract for lithium carbonate showed a range-bound trend. After opening, prices quickly surged, with an increase of up to 6.4%, reaching a high of 171,400 RMB/ton. However, after midday, the market pulled back, with prices gradually retreating to around 166,000 RMB/ton, then fluctuating narrowly around that level. Open interest increased by approximately 12,000 lots compared to the previous trading day. Based on actual transactions in the spot market, upstream lithium salt producers generally remain reluctant to sell in small lots, with only a few companies making minor sales at relatively high prices during trading. Downstream buyers continue to adopt a just-in-time procurement strategy, with most companies remaining cautious and observing. As a result, intra-day market inquiries and overall transactions remain subdued. (SMM)
