U.S. stocks close: The three major indices all finish higher, with the Nasdaq up over 1%
On Monday Eastern Time, the U.S. stock market’s three major indices all rose. At the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 47,740.8 points, up 0.50%; the S&P 500 was at 6,795.99 points, up 0.83%; and the Nasdaq was at 22,695.95 points, up 1.38%.
Large tech stocks generally rose, with Nvidia up 2.72%, Apple up 0.94%, Google up 2.70%, Microsoft up 0.11%, Amazon up 0.13%, Meta up 0.39%, Tesla up 0.49%, Broadcom up 4.62%, Oracle down 0.92%, Netflix down 0.71%, AMD up 5.33%, Micron Technology up 5.14%, and Intel up 4.97%.
Popular Chinese concept stocks mostly increased, with the Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index up 1.76%, Alibaba up 1.41%, JD.com up 1.63%, Pinduoduo up 0.66%, NIO up 3.35%, XPeng up 6.52%, Li Auto up 3.90%, Bilibili up 6.04%, Baidu up 2.88%, NetEase down 0.11%, Tencent Music up 0.81%, Pony.ai up 3.12%, and Kingsoft Cloud up 19.02%.
International precious metals futures fluctuated. As of press time, COMEX gold futures fell 0.12% to $5,152.60 per ounce, and COMEX silver futures rose 3.05% to $86.88 per ounce.
International oil prices rose significantly on the 9th. By the close of the day, light crude oil futures for April delivery on NYMEX increased $3.87 to $94.77 per barrel, up 4.26%; Brent crude oil futures for May delivery increased $6.27 to $98.96 per barrel, up 6.76%.
