WASHINGTON, Feb 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. Treasury will issue more licenses to relax sanctions on Venezuelan energy this week, a White House energy sector official said Thursday.

Washington has eased sanctions on the Venezuelan energy industry after U.S. forces captured President Nicolás Maduro in early January.

“We have many general licenses, and there will be more this week,” said Jarrod Agen, CEO of the White House National Energy Domain Council, at an event hosted by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.
