London stock market declines on the 9th
Xinhua News Agency London, March 9 — (Reporter Zhang Yadong) The FTSE 100 Index of the London Stock Exchange closed at 10,249.52 points on March 9, down 35.23 points or 0.34% from the previous trading day. All three major European stock indices declined that day.
Among the top five gainers in the London stock components were: Metron Energy and Metals, up 4.09%; Shell, up 2.36%; BP, up 2.22%; Beiyi Systems, up 2.03%; and Babcock International, up 1.68%.
The top five decliners were: Persimmon, down 5.48%; Tianxiang Group, down 4.71%; Segro, down 4.35%; British Land, down 3.94%; and John Davy Sportswear, down 3.79%.
Regarding other major European stock indices, the Paris CAC 40 closed at 7,915.36 points, down 78.13 points or 0.98% from the previous day; the Frankfurt DAX closed at 23,409.37 points, down 181.66 points or 0.77%.
