Dollar Tree hitting wealthier neighborhoods, not just low-income areas— breaking 'stigma of the dollar store'

Abstract generation in progress

Dollar Tree is strategically expanding into more affluent neighborhoods, with nearly half of its new stores in the last six years located in wealthier ZIP codes. This move aims to capture spending from higher-income customers, who, despite shopping less frequently, spend more per visit, potentially boosting annual sales by $1 billion. The company is also shedding the traditional “dollar store stigma” by offering products up to $5, and more recently, up to $7, and utilizing prime vacant storefronts.
