OpenAI sees compute spend of around $600 billion by 2030, CNBC reports

Feb 20 (Reuters) - ChatGPT-maker OpenAI has told investors ‌that it is ‌targeting roughly $600 billion in total ​compute spend by 2030, CNBC reported on Friday.

The company is projecting ‌total ⁠revenue of more than $280 billion by 2030, ⁠with nearly equal contributions from its ​consumer and ​enterprise ​businesses, the report ‌said, citing sources.

Microsoft-backed OpenAI’s 2025 revenue totaled $13.1 billion, beating its $10 billion target, CNBC said. It ‌spent $8 billion ​last year, ​coming ​in under its $9 ‌billion projection.

OpenAI did not ​immediately ​respond to a Reuters request for comment.
