Former South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol’s case of alleged instigation of insurrection will be sentenced in the first trial at 3 p.m. local time on the 19th. Starting from the morning of that day, Yoon Suk-yeol’s supporters and citizen groups urging the death penalty for Yoon Suk-yeol gathered near the Seoul Central District Court. The South Korean citizen group “Candlelight Action” stated that they would hold a rally urging Yoon Suk-yeol’s conviction at the west gate of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office from 2 p.m. local time, with an estimated 5,000 people attending. Supporters of Yoon Suk-yeol said that from 9 a.m. local time until the verdict is announced, about 4,300 people would gather around the Seoul Central District Court to urge the court to acquit Yoon Suk-yeol.
