Bitcoin whale transfers $430 million in assets, reappearing on the chain after 13 years
Source: PortaldoBitcoin Original Title: Bitcoin Whale Transfers R$ 430 Million After 13 Years Inactive Original Link: https://portaldobitcoin.uol.com.br/baleia-de-bitcoin-transfere-r-430-milhoes-apos-13-anos-inativa/ After remaining inactive for more than 13 years, a Bitcoin network address transferred on Monday (19) all of its balance of 909.38 BTC, which at current rates is equivalent to US$ 81 million (R$ 430 million).
The address that made the transfer accumulated Bitcoin between December 2012 and April 2013. During this period, the asset traded within a price range of US$ 13 to US$ 250.
This is almost a whale, as the classic definition of the term is addresses holding at least one thousand units of Bitcoin.
Whales are moving
With the all-time high repeatedly renewed last year, many whales started to move for repositioning or profit-taking.
In this context, the case of the Satoshi-era whale who sold more than 80,000 bitcoins became famous in July of last year, which at the time amounted to R$ 51.7 billion.
In a statement, a company that facilitated the transaction said it “was one of the largest nominal Bitcoin transactions in the history of the crypto market on behalf of a client.” The company also described the sale as “one of the most significant exits from the digital asset market.”
Bitcoin is currently trading at US$ 89,245 at the time of writing, down 7.9% over the past seven days.
