U.S. Non-Farm Payrolls for August and September Revised Down by 33,000, Official Data Correction Announced



PANews reported on December 16th that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest data revision results, showing significant adjustments in U.S. non-farm employment over the past two months. Among them, non-farm employment in August was revised from the previously announced decline of 0.4 thousand to a larger decline of 2.6 thousand, a correction of 2.2 thousand.

The revision for September's U.S. non-farm employment was relatively moderate, with new jobs adjusted from 119,000 to 108,000, a decrease of 11,000. Combining the data for both months, the total correction for August and September U.S. non-farm employment is a downward adjustment of 33,000 compared to the initially announced figures, reflecting a slightly weaker employment market growth than initially expected.
