The Tellor Layer officially launched its mainnet in Q3 2025, marking a major upgrade to the Tellor protocol. It evolved from a single contract on Ethereum into an independent Layer 1 blockchain built on Cosmos SDK. This new chain is specifically optimized for data oracles and cross-chain data transfer. The TRB token can now be migrated to the Tellor Layer using the official bridging tool, where it can be staked and used to pay for data request fees.

Mustang Finance and Palomino Finance have already gone live. Both are DeFi applications launched based on the Saga protocol and are among the earliest important ecosystem projects on the Tellor Layer. The launch of these two projects signifies that the Tellor ecosystem has entered the practical application stage from the infrastructure layer.

This TRB upgrade path from single chain to multi-chain is quite interesting, but how far it can go really depends on whether the ecosystem apps can actually come out.

Oh wow, Tellor Layer is really getting active. Now it's not just contracts sitting on ETH anymore. Wait, Mustang and Palomino are live? How come I haven't heard of these two projects before? Has anyone used them? TRB can now be bridged and staked, it feels like the ecosystem is starting to take shape... but whether it can be used effectively is another matter. From single-chain to multi-chain infrastructure, it sounds great, but the real test is just beginning. With so many oracle projects out there, why do I specifically favor the Tellor path?
