Vladimir Novakovski, the founder and CEO of Lighter, recently gave an in-depth interview regarding the witch hunt screening issue that everyone is concerned about.
He revealed that the project has set up an appeal mechanism for this purpose. So far, the number of appeals received has actually been less than expected. If any user feels that the algorithm's judgment is unfair to them, they can submit an objection through the appeal form on Discord — the project team promises to take every appeal seriously.
Regarding the algorithm itself, Vladimir did not disclose many details. He explained that the specific calculation logic cannot be fully 공개ed, mainly to prevent targeted optimization and evasion by malicious actors. However, he also shared the technical framework: this system involves clustering analysis, behavior pattern recognition, and other data science fields. The project's quantitative team (which mainly handles liquidity and market maker connections) spent several weeks delving into it.
Additionally, Lighter has also engaged in exchanges and collaborations with other protocols that have done similar work, as well as individual witch hunters. Overall, Vladimir is confident in the final results, but he also honestly stated — if misjudgments do occur, users must submit an appeal, and the project team will carefully review it.

The appeal mechanism sounds good, but how many actually get approved...

An appeal mechanism is indeed necessary, but the key still depends on whether the algorithm is reliable... I can't quite understand the point about not disclosing the logic.

The appeal mechanism sounds good, but I'm worried it might become a paper tiger later on.
The algorithm isn't public, so I'm also worried about it being bypassed... This logic is a bit convoluted. How can fairness be ensured?
Witch hunters are already using it, this could be troublesome.
I've seen a few accounts before that were mistakenly banned, I hope this review process will be more reliable this time.

It's indeed outrageous to have so few appeals... Either the algorithm isn't really that bad, or everyone has chosen to stay silent.
