Agency—In simple terms, the sense of proactive control—is almost completely overlooked in school education.

Interestingly, this concept doesn't have a direct equivalent in many languages; it can only be roughly explained with a bunch of words. But the real key is: for entrepreneurs, its importance far exceeds IQ.

I even believe that the same applies to the overall happiness of ordinary people. Being able to make autonomous decisions, believing in oneself to change the status quo, and not just sitting idly in the face of difficulties—these traits are more decisive in how far a person can ultimately go than mere intelligence.

From traders to entrepreneurs, and to any choice in daily life, successful people are often not the smartest, but those who dare to take responsibility and act proactively. This may be the biggest omission in education.

Well said. I am part of the generation that was ruined by the education system, and only now do I realize that actionability is worth much more than exam scores. Really, it's the same in the crypto world—those who dare to go all-in often live more comfortably than those who analyze cautiously. School teaches only passive waiting, no wonder young people are all lying flat. That's why I now prefer to trust my intuition over experts—after all, it's all a gamble. The word "agency" really can't be translated directly, but it captures that feeling of "what can I change," which is so scarce.

Exactly right, school doesn’t teach you how to make decisions at all, it only teaches you to obey. --- It’s a bit harsh to say, no matter how good your grades are, it’s useless. The key is whether you dare to move. --- Agency, to put it simply, means not being afraid, but the education system is actually eroding this. --- I think what’s more ruthless than IQ is whether you believe you can change anything. That determines your ceiling. --- The most successful guys in the entrepreneurial world are not the smartest ones; they are the ones with thick skin who dare to charge forward. --- Schools have taught us how to be obedient for over ten years, but they’ve never taught us how to master our own lives. It’s truly outrageous. --- A sense of control, whether you have it or not, makes a world of difference in life’s direction. --- I realized a bit late. If only I had understood in high school that agency is more important than grades. --- There’s truly a difference between sitting and waiting for death and actively taking action. No other secret.

To be honest, schools teach you how to obey and take exams, but no one teaches you how to take control of your life. Honestly, compared to smart people, I admire those who dare to take risks more. These days, agencies are the real game-changers; there are plenty of smart people out there.
